INITIAL ASSESSMENT

More About The Assessment

All new training goals, no matter how long you have been training, begin with an assessment of where you are right here, right now. To plot a course from “here” to “there” you have to know where “here” is. And once you know that you can determine a good “there.” Said another way we need to figure out points A and B if we want to move from one to the other as quickly, safely and efficiently as possible.


Assessments:

1 Clear out basic risk

2 Highlight problem areas

3 Outline the programming map


Here’s a breakdown of what we cover in the 50 min Assessment:

1 Starts with a few basic introductory questions

2 Movement check - 3 to 5 simple movements

3 Measurements - 3 to 5 basic numbers

4 Post Assessment Discussion


In the Post Assessment Discussion I’ll cover:

1 Risks, problem areas, strengths/weaknesses

2 Go over the Diagram of Training to further illustrate the findings

3 Talk about the Basic qualities everyone must train - mobility, strength, endurance, etc.

4 Go over the need to train the Fundamental Human Movements - push, pull, hinge, squat, etc.

5 How to structure a professional level session

6 What an ideal weekly schedule looks like

7 Discuss tangible goals

8 Learn a couple of exercise to immediately impact your needs
